Postural syndrome is a condition of the neck and upper back most commonly felt in those who work in sedentary jobs such as those which are computer related, but may also be experienced by athletes who are commonly in a bent forward position such as cyclists or wicket-keepers. Symptoms are due to prolonged, poor posture in a slumped forward position. They are tightness, aching and/or burning across the back of the shoulders which usually extends up the neck to the base of the skull. Commonly, there is also associated headache.
